These traditional exhaust systems were bred during the years that Terry Vance &
Byron Hines were honing their skills on the drag strips of America and
developing products that, in time, would become legendary. These
exhaust systems are descendants of those many years of experience. Tuned
length headpipes, tapered megaphone and collector are beautifully
finished in brilliant chrome. These exhaust systems scream style and
performance in true hot-rod tradition.
VHR FAQ:
Q: Is rejetting required
with your exhaust?
A: Yes, Vance & Hines does recommend rejetting with our exhaust
systems.
Q: Do the fuel-injected models require adjustments with your
exhaust?
A: Yes, and recently we launched a new Harley-Davidson fuel
management system. Fuelpak is available for the DelphiŽ fuel
injected SoftailŽ and Dresser models. Vance & Hines recommends the
use of a fuel management system for all fuel injected applications.
Q: Why do mufflers blue?
A: Mufflers can discolor for any number of reasons; not rejetting
can cause discoloration, or too rich or too lean a jetting may also
cause it. Small diameter mufflers can also discolor due to the heat
generated by their size.
Q: Do your pipes come with exhaust gaskets?
A: No, you will need to contact your local dealer.
Q: Will your pipes work with the baffles removed?
A: We do not recommend the removal of the baffles due to the large
loss in torque and midrange you will experience.
Q: How do your exhaust systems compare with other aftermarket pipes?
A: The looks, installation and quality of our pipes speak for
themselves. We feel we have the best balance between sound levels
and performance.
Q: Can I get replacement parts for your exhaust systems?
A: Yes, you can special order mufflers, heat shields or headpipes.
Q: Do you offer custom-made exhaust systems?
A: No, Unfortunately we do not offer custom made exhausts.

while the titanium systems come with straight through race baffles.
Q: What is the difference between the S4 and SS2R?
A: The S4 exhaust systems are made with stainless steel while the
SS2R exhaust systems are made of mild steel.
Q: Do you make a complete exhaust system in the S4?
A: We do not offer complete exhaust systems in the S4 at this time.
Q: Will the S4 end cap fit my SS2R?
A: No, the end cap and baffle designs are different and therefore do
not interchange.
Q: Do I have to rejet with a slip-on?
A: In most cases where the slip-on has a quiet street baffle, no
rejetting is necessary. You should however rejet if running a
slip-on with a straight through competition baffle.
